From the October 11, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
“You and I, From Primary to Junior High” – – Alicia Adams: Alicia was invited to go to the Santa Barbara Fiesta by the president Mr. Stanwood. She rode in an old-fashioned carriage drawn by horses. It was a Spanish Parade. They had bands, sheriffs, policemen and all.

Dental Health Week: Given by the National Dental Association. They’re going to give away dolls and toys to the different boys and girls. All you have to do is to have the best teeth. Watch in the papers for pictures of Alicia.

From the October 25, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
YOU AND I, FROM PRIMARY TO JUNIOR HIGH: Alicia Adams has been working in a Paramount picture with Orin Tucker and Bonny Baker. She has a singing part.

From the 1941 Mar-Ken Primary and Junior High School Yearbook:
Alicia Adams was in the fourth grade in 1941. She wrote an article, “Opportunity Room” for this Yearbook telling how her class elects student officers.
