Robert Ramon Benton 1941

Robert Ramon Benton (“Bob”)

Robert Ramon Benton was a senior, 12th grade, in 1941 and graduated that year.

From the October 25, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
WHO’S WHO: Among the Seniors Are – A member of the Senior class and a native of Southern California, Bob Benton comes to us from Hollywood High. Bob’s main ambition is to attend U.S.C. and from there, study singing. His favorite sports are swimming and football and Roast Lamb just hits the spot with him. Mr. Benton thinks “Mar-Ken is the swellest school he’s ever attended.”  “Nice having you, Bob.”

From the November 8, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
TYPICAL QUIPS: Bob Benton – – “What’s the deal?”

From the November 20, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
THANKSGIVING PLANS: Bob Benton – – Exercise???

From the Mar-Ken 1941 Yearbook:
Robert Benton. Alias “the muscle man” of Mar-Ken, this powerfully built specimen of humanity stands out in football and swimming. He likes dancing but jitterbugging is definitely out.
