June Jerome was Editor-in-Chief of Mar-Ken Journal, the school newspaper.

From the January 24, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
•June Jerome was a Mar-Ken Journal staff re-writer; she also wrote the “Snooper” column.
•SNOOPER: Consuming chili and beans at the home of Jean Gordon recently were: Ray Dixon, June Jerome, Alice Tyrell, Jack Peirce and John MacMahon.

From the Mar-Ken 1940 Yearbook, as a Junior:
JANICE CHAMBERS – – A newcomer to our little gathering is making quite a place for herself in the current “Meet The People”. She was born in Chicago, on May 28th. Janice has a grand voice and hopes to study after graduation for a singing career.

From the September 27, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
•June Jerome wrote articles about the Senior Class meeting and reviewed the movie “No Time for Comedy” for this issue of the student newspaper.
•SNOOPER: Seen at the Player’s Restaurant Saturday night were Jean Gordon, Jimmy Zaner, June Jerome and Dick Kurtze. Must have been one of the evenings they didn’t get to the Ice Follies.

From the October 11, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
•June Jerome and Donna Atwood comprise the Rewrite Department for this issue of the Mar-Ken Journal. June wrote the Senior column and reviewed the movie “Foreign Correspondent” for the school newsletter.
•SNOOPER: Enjoying a performance of Charlot’s Review recently were Mary Alice Dill, Jean Gordon and June Jerome.

From the October 25, 1940 Mar-Ken Journal:
•June Jerome is a co-rewriter for this issue of the Mar-Ken Journal. She wrote the “Snooper” column. She is a participating writer of “A Little Essay on Responsibility.”
•June Jerome wrote an article about the “Senior Dinner Party” and the Senior’s column for the school newspaper. She also reviewed the Paramount movie “The Howards of Virginia.”

•June Jerome is a Rewrite Editor for this issue of the Mar-Ken Journal. She also reviewed the M.G.M. movie “Escape.”
•SNOOPER: Dinner and dancing at Malibu Beach was greatly enjoyed by June Jerome and Bob Cowan of U.C.L.A.

•WHO’S WHO: June Jerome – – Her favorite color is blue and her favorite sport is bowling. Her hobby is spending money, ambition is to someday graduate from school. June is the merry soul with dimples and humorous wit.

From the March 14, 1941 issue of the Mar-Ken Journal (student newspaper):
June Jerome – – is one of our most popular seniors. She has attended Mar-Ken for a year and a half and is now Editor of the Journal. June’s hobby is to always have a good time and her ambition is to always keep on laughing. Those who work with her realize how invaluable she is to our paper.

From 1941 Mar-Ken Yearbook:
June Jerome. We suppose that June’s favorite subject is Journalism because she is the Editor-in-Chief of our school paper. Nevertheless, it is rumored about the halls of Mar-Ken that chemistry runs a close second. We don’t know that she would be without Levy’s or the Brown Derby. June hopes to enter college.
