Gilbert is the brother of Carol and Suzanne LeVeque.

Gilbert attended Mar-Ken School in the fourth grade in 1942. He then transferred to Greenbrier, and then to Powers’ Professional School, ultimately graduating from Hollywood Professional School. Gilbert works as an editor for CBS News.

Gilbert’s mother, Florence Gilbert LeVeque, was an artist who died at the age of 89 in 1986. Gilbert’s father, Edward LeVeque, was one of the Keystone Cops, and the last one to pass away. He was born on June 4, 1896 in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and as a child served as a gun runner for Pancho Villa. According to the biography on the Internet Movie Database, “In his youth he delivered newspapers while on horseback, to subscribers in East El Paso. He also worked as a sales clerk in his father’s curio shop. He finally earned his way to Hollywood selling newspapers and fresh fruit to train passengers.” [Source: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0494664/maindetails] He worked as an actor in movies and television and made many guest appearances on TV shows.
