Geraldine Morgan attended Lawlor Professional School in the fifth grade. Later, after spending her 10th and 11th grades in Hollywood High School, she returned to attend Mar-Ken School in the 1943-1944 school year, graduating in 1944. She was the artist for the 1944 Mar-Ken Yearbook, “Transvia.” At the insistence of Mrs. Bessire, she sang two solos at the graduation ceremony.
Gerry was on “Meet the People” with Lucille Ball and Dick Powell. She worked on many, many films to earn tuition for UCLA, where she joined Alpha Phi and majored in Italian, French and Spanish. She got up to the semi-finals in the old Metropolitan Opera auditions at age 18 (they were known as the “Atwater Kent Opera Auditions” in those days). Gerry married Jerry Williams, her “singing partner” who was with Technicolor as a “timer” for 43 years. They retired to Washington State after they had three children. Gerry taught Home Economics at Van Nuys Baptist Jr. High for many years and then attended a medical training school after which she ended up as office manager for a retinal specialist (MD) in Tarzana, California.
Now in Michigan with their daughter, Erin, and three teen grandsons, Gerry enjoys watercolor painting. Her oldest son, Trenton, holds a Ph.D. and works as a psychologist in Tacoma, WA. Trenton and his wife Shelley have two children, and they have two grown stepchildren. Gerry’s youngest son, Kevin, retired from the California Highway Patrol, and then worked as an insurance investigator. He now fiddles around with his Cape Breton style Celtic instrument with the San Francisco Celtic Fiddlers. His paintings can be found in a Bodega Bay gallery. Kevin and his wife Janet have two children.
