James Palmer “Jimmy”

James Palmer attended Lawlor Professional school in 1935. He dated classmate Louise Montgomery and she told Mar-Ken.org that he wanted to go into the Air Force, but was rejected because he was colorblind. He then volunteered for the Navy and she believes that he was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941 and that he was killed there. Military records show a James Palmer Murphy, Navy F3c, killed aboard the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She describes him as an enigmatic kid, whose parents were divorced and who had a difficult childhood. She thinks that his mother may have remarried and that he may have taken his mother’s married name as his middle name and that this could well be the same person as attended Lawlor Professional School. If anyone can verify this, please e-mail the webmaster at contact@Mar-Ken.org.
