Gloria Watson was in the seventh grade in 1941. She served as a News Reporter for the Mar-Ken Journal. She was the Editor of Units on the Annual Staff. She co-authored an article about the Posture Class for the Yearbook.

From the 1942 Mar-Ken Primary & Junior High School Yearbook:
•Gloria Watson was 5′ 5 3/4″ in the eighth grade.
•Eighth Grade Class Ambitions: Gloria wants to be an airplane pilot. That explains why she gazes into space.
•Famous Sayin’: Gloria … (The teacher is yelling her lungs out) Gloria!!! (Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) “Oh, do I have to do that?”
•Class Predictions: We think we are giving Gloria the correct prediction. She shall be a famous aviatrix.
