Claire attended Hollywood Professional School because she started working as a singer at age 7 and the school was set up to accommodate her schedule. She then transferred to Mar-Ken School on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood and, although she can’t recall the exact years she was there, the Yearbooks show that she was there in 1944 and 1945. She transferred to Hollywood High School during her senior year, and graduated from there although she appears in the 1945 Mar-Ken School Yearbook as a graduating senior. Her photo below comes from the senior section of the Mar-Ken School Yearbook.

From the 1944 Mar-Ken Yearbook, Transvia, “Sophomore Biographies”:
CLARIBEL BRESSEL was born in New Jersey, but before coming to Mar-Ken most of her time was taken up by the stage. Although she is studying to be an opera singer, she enjoys outdoor sports and constantly enlarges her record collection.

From the 1945 Mar-Ken School Yearbook, Senior Broadcast page:
CLARIBEL BRESSEL – Has the makings of a great opera star. She was born in Jersey N.J. on August 18, 1928. If you happen to hear the phrase, “I can’t see it”, you know she isn’t far away. Her principle occupation is talking. She spends most of her time saying “Whoa!”, to the horses she rides.

Claribel was a member of Los Buenos Vecinos (The Good Neighbors, Spanish Club) in 1945.
